The dense forest in Maredumilli forms a green canopy, that does not allow even sunlight to penetrate to the Forest floor. This area is located nearly 90 Km far from Rajahmundry and is bestowed with rich biodiversity. The area is watered by several streems, water falls, gushing over undulating rocks in the deep woods. The Project is managed by local tribal communities in association with the Forest Department. The Jungle Star Nature Camping Site is located on the banks of Pamuleru vagu, near Valamuru village.

Location of CBET, Maredumilli The Maredumilli Forests of East Godavari District are having
rich biodiversity and the area is having semi evergreen forests
with undulating terrain, which forms part of the Eastern Ghats.
Ethno Medico Awareness Centre This area is developed with an intention to make public aware
of the medicinal plants
Medicinal Plants Development Area & Karthikavanam
The area is planted with exotics brought from Western ghats
and Orissa.
Local species which are having medicinal value were also
planted here.
Adjoining this area is “Karthika Vanam” with
plenty of Maredu and Amla (Usiri) trees.
Vali Sugriva Medicinal Plants Conservation Area This area is an undulating terrain with an extent of 260 Ha.
So far 203 plant species including medicinal and rare plants
were identified in this area.
